forgetting -

It is very easy for me to get so wrapped up in what I am doing and how I am living my life that I will often overlook the problems and feelings of others - for this I apologize for to all of the viewers as well as to my co-creator of this blog Vicki - who has just expressed today how she gets joy from simplicity - towards this end I have often thought that if I created only one image in my entire life I might be doing something much greater than creating many images and cluttering up the world - this leaves me with a great deal of pain and conflict within - because I enjoy and love creating the images that I have been creating so much -

it is apparent to me that the thoughts of others very often do a great deal to confuse me at times - and then I realize - if I had their thoughts or if my thoughts were even similar to the thoughts of others I certainly would not be me - There was a time - before September 11, 2001 when there was only one image of mine that I wanted to place on the Internet as an image for sale - I had taken this while relaxing on one of my favorite beach chairs behind what I call my castle - and I could not have been more peaceful - to me this is the ultimate environment and state of being to be creating art in:

something happened after that day on September 11th that triggered a whole different feeling inside of me that I am not sure will ever be able to leave me be - it was the concept that my work - my life and each and every moment of my existence is much more valuable and precious than I had ever realized before and that from that point on I wanted to treat each moment in this manner!

In addition this post that I have just made has just reminded me of the many thousands of images that I had created before the digital world existed as well as the thousands of images that I had originally had in the gallery of my main website which I have not too long ago simply removed because the images of the galleries that I now have simply overshadowed them - here there is more conflict brewing since I am in no way ready to stop moving forward in my development with my work in order to stop and look back for the images that were once for me the present moment but are now just memories - now if I could possibly go back - stay fresh in this moment and look forward to new developments in the near as well as distant future - I would have everything down pat - here is an image that is close to the one that I want to show you now - but it is in no way the exact one which was taken on the way back from Florida on my first round trip plane flight:

so much revolves around these towers and 1976 - one important image I created at that period of time was taken from the top of the Trinity Church Bell Tower while photographing Wall Street and I turned around and saw the twin towers for the very first time after their completion and how the shot up to the sky like nothing I had ever seen before - I will have to look for that image later on in my life - but here is what I have now to remember everything:

and then I just came across this image which I think is the simplest thing that I can ever capture in an image - but it lasts for only a very brief moment like all things that are precious:

  1. Walter, never stop doing what you are passionate about and love! Just because one person may like simplicity does not give the right to not allow others to express themselves in anyway they choose too. Your's is through art and expression and photography. I can't even begin to express my gratitude for all your work that has brought me much joy since we started this joint venture.
You have opened my eyes to another form of art that I didn't even know existed.
One must live their life as they choose as this is what living is all about...Passion!!

  2. thank you Vicki - can you tell me a bit more about your passion - I know that I begin somewhere around 3AM creating images and work as long as I can - till I take a little nap - wake up - eat breakfast - create more and then head to Manhattan and hand out my cards with the hope that I will give the card to some people who will enjoy looking at the images - then I head back to my studio to work on more images - eat dinner and then work on some more images -

  3. My passion of course is social media, has been for over 13 years. I typically start my day at 5:30am managing my fan page clients on Facebook. Phone calls usually follow and answering emails.
I take a power nap after lunch then begin it all over again. Evening time is spent with hubby, my girls and grand daughter. I typically take weekends off from doing any business. I would love to have a couple of your business cards :=)
